Do I have to use the school's contracted photographer for my yearbook photo?
Yes you do. Your school has chosen a specific look for the yearbook pictures so they will all look uniform. However, is that really you? You do have a choice in who captures your senior portraits that you want to share with your family and friends. The Senior Experience by Cindy Carter Photography artistically captures your senior photos with your uniqueness and your look.

How soon should I schedule my senior portrait session? 

The sooner the better! We only schedule 100 senior sessions per year.

When should I schedule my senior session?

Most senior sessions are scheduled for the summer between your Junior & Senior year. However anytime between the summer after your Junior year and your graduation is perfect.

What time of day and day of the week is best? 

All sessions are scheduled in advance. Studio sessions are available 9:30am - 6:00pm on most days. Location sessions are scheduled for early mornings and late afternoons.

Where should I have my location photo session?

There are so many possibilities... the beach, a park, a field, your school, your home, your favorite hangout and more. We have a list of suggestions you can request. 

Can I bring a friend or my mom with me to help with my hair, make-up, etc.?
Definitely! Having someone to help you often puts you at ease during your session and makes it more fun.

What if my complexion isn't perfect on the day my photos are scheduled?

Almost everyone has days with less than perfect skin. All images are fully retouched to remove minor blemishes, scars, stray hairs, etc.

Can I bring my own props?
Yes we encourage you to bring things that show your interests & activities such as sports equipment, musical instruments, your artwork, uniforms.

What do you suggest about clothing?

First of all, the clothes you bring to your senior portrait session should represent the real you! What do you feel good in? What do you feel you look good in? What are you comfortable in? Those are the clothes you should bring. Bring a variety of different looks. Wear colors that you look great on you. Think in terms of total outfits and different style. . . funky, fun, trendy, dressy, sporty, casual, etc.

If you're going to be photographed in four outfits, don't bring four pairs of jeans and four t-shirts, unless that all you ever wear, or there's some special reason to do so. Think variety... casual, dressy, sporty, fun. Make sure everything is clean and pressed.

For girls this might be shorts, capris, skinny jeans, skirts and dresses. For guys, it might be shorts, jeans, dockers and slacks. Don't forget accessories such as sunglasses, scarves, jewelry, and hats.
